Honestly
Have I been improving?
I feel as if I'm stuck in a rut
Everything I draw just looks so awful and wrong to me
I cannot even shade properly
I'm not asking for "Oh your arts totally kawaii desu desu!~"
I would just like some honest opinions
What you like
What you don't like
I won't be offended.

Adopt Related
I haven't written one of these damn things in soooo freaking long...
SO anyway, as some of you may or may not have noticed, I have been frequenting adoptables, drawing them, getting them, and so on. I've decided to start stockpiling some "5 point adopts", meaning, I am going to whip up a bunch of nice looking well put together characters/designs and sell them off at 5 points each, in hopes that they will sell better, and I will be able to further my point collection. (Thusly, acquiring more adopts <3)
I would appreciate it if you leave a comment, suggesting things I can do, or things you would like to see!
I can do bases, species, customs
Murgy
The mist is overlapping, obscuring and blinding. It chokes, and it suffocates; it does not part. No light beams shine through, no dust particles dance. All is lost, deep, in the murgy swamp
What is shading
I suck at shading

Hi, I haven't been on here in a while, but yeah here's my response to this:
I think that you have been improving. If someone goes through your gallery and compares some of your older works to newer ones there is a difference. And I'm going to be honest, and I not sugar coating anything I say here because I know that you want a real response to this, and I know that feedback and constructive criticism leads to improvement.
First of all I want to start with what I think can be improved in your drawings, and that is mostly proportions and point of view. I know from experience that it can be a tough hurdle to jump, and even though it seems silly and maybe even a little embarrassing (at least that's how I felt) but practicing guidelines, those ball-and stick type figures, and getting reference pictures are good places to start. When I took my first year of drawing class and we had our figure drawing unit it helped a lot because my teacher made us just practice getting the form right over and over and we did a lot of breaking down the basic shape and proportion of the human body.
I also think that you don't give your self enough credit for somethings though. For example you say you can't even shade properly, but that's not true. I think that in some of your drawings you haven't fully identified your light source, but in others your have done a phenomenal job with the coloring and shading. Like this [link] and this [link] you've done a great job coloring, blending and shading in both of these. Both pieces done in a way where you can tell that there is a light source (as opposed to something that is flat colored) and you can tell where about it is coming from. There's also a certain feeling/expression in the way you color your pieces that I really like.
Anyway, I can't wait to continue to see you grow and improve as an artist, and if you ever want any feed back or help or anything like that just let me know!!
